BATTERSEA

Battersea is in the London Borough of Wandsworth, England.  It is an inner-city district of South London in fare zone 2, situated on the south side of the River Thames, 2.9 miles south-west of Charing Cross.

Battersea Power Station

Battersea Power Station

Bridges erected across the Thames encouraged growth; Putney Bridge, a mile to the west, was built in 1729, and Battersea Bridge in the centre of the north boundary in 1771.
Battersea Power Station was completed in 1939, and became obsolete since 1983, but over the past 50 years it has become one of the best known landmarks in London, since when various new developments were started but never accomplished.  The speculation of new development in this area now seems secure (2013) as development of a new underground rail station is approved with the funding in place to completely redevelop the whole area over the next decade.

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home is the UK's oldest and most famous home for dogs and cats and is situated in the Battersea area of London, England. It is financed by voluntary donations with an income of almost 12.2 million in 2010.

CLAPHAM JUNCTION

Clapham Junction railway station is near St John's Hill in the south-west of Battersea in the London Borough of Wandsworth.  Although it is in Battersea, the area around the station is commonly identified as Clapham Junction.

Each day about 2,000 trains, most stopping, pass through the station, more than through any other station in Europe.  At peak times 180 trains per hour pass through of which 117 stop.  It is not the busiest station by number of passengers, most of whom (about 430,000 on a weekday, of which 135,000 are at rush hours) pass through. Interchanges make some 40% of the activity and on that basis too it is the busiest station in the UK.

When the station was built Battersea was regarded as a poor district while Clapham, a mile east, was more fashionable.  The railway companies, to attract middle and upper-class clientele, adopted the grander of the two names, leading to a long-lasting misunderstanding that the station is in Clapham!

Guidance for Collections in London, SW11.

When you call us, we will want to know what type rubbish we are collecting i.e. electrical waste: cooker, old computer, printer, garden refuse, or a junk clear out from an attic or garage, etc.

It would be helpful if you could also provide an estimate of your load size e.g. based on a standard skip, perhaps 1/2 a skip load or 3 skip loads etc in order that we bring along the right man-power and an appropriately sized vehicle to take your waste away.

Ask for a Quote

You will find our quotes extremely competitive, and certainly cheaper than hiring an equivalent size skip.

As a responsible Licensed Waste Carrier we are currently recycling up to 80% of all the rubbish we collect.  Collection times are pre-arranged and we are flexible and will try to meet the clients' requirements.
